Privacy at KeepThisCharacter

KeepThisCharacter is a small guide site. It has no accounts, takes no payments, and never receives your images. Here is exactly what that means for your data.

No accounts, no sign-ups

There is nothing to sign up for on this site. We do not ask for your name, email address, or any personal detail, and there is no login. This site's job is to explain reference-based person and character consistency, provide a local planning tool, and hand you off to the editor when you choose.

Your images never reach us

This site does not accept image uploads at all. The reference-sheet planner reads your images locally in your browser and draws them onto a canvas — nothing is uploaded, stored, or transmitted to us or anyone else. When you download a sheet, it is generated on your own device. You could use the planner with your connection turned off.

Privacy-conscious analytics

We use PostHog, a privacy-conscious analytics tool, to understand which pages help people and which do not — for example, how many visitors read the reference guide or open the planner. This is aggregate product analytics, used only to improve the site. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build personal profiles for marketing.

  • What we measure: page views, and clicks on the link out to the editor, in aggregate.
  • What we don't collect: your name, email, images, or any account information — because there are none.
  • Cookies: only what the analytics tool needs to count visits; no advertising cookies.

What happens when you go to the editor

The buttons on this site link to the EditThisPic editor, where the actual editing happens. That is a separate product with its own privacy terms and its own handling of any images you choose to edit there. When you follow a link, we pass along a simple source tag so we can tell that a visit came from this site — nothing about you personally. Read EditThisPic's own terms before editing there.

Contact

If you have a question about privacy on this site, the honest answer is that we hold almost nothing to ask about — no account, no images, no personal data. For anything about editing itself, that is governed by the editor's own privacy policy, which you can review on EditThisPic before you begin.

Questions, answered plainly

Do you store the images I use in the planner?

No. The planner runs entirely in your browser. Your images are read locally and drawn to a canvas on your device; they are never uploaded to us or stored anywhere. Closing the tab discards them.

Do you use advertising trackers?

No. We use only privacy-conscious product analytics to see which pages are useful, in aggregate. There are no advertising cookies and no data selling.

What data crosses over to the editor?

Only a simple source tag in the link, so the editor and we can tell a visit came from this site. Nothing personal is passed, because we hold nothing personal. Editing itself is covered by the editor's own privacy policy.
