Privacy at KeepThisCharacter
KeepThisCharacter has no account system, but its native workbench accepts approved references, creates private scene files, and takes one-time pack payments. Here is what stays local, what is stored, and when it expires.
No account is required
The first watermarked preview needs no signup or login. A random job and batch link keeps the workbench recoverable in the browser. If you buy a one-time pack, payment is handled by Stripe; we store the verified purchase state needed to unlock scene places and downloads.
Two references can be uploaded; a third stays local
The workbench sends the required primary reference and an optional second angle into private object storage so the reference-guided image engine can make a scene. The optional third comparison slot is deliberately client-side only: its bytes are never submitted by the workbench. The separate reference-sheet planner also runs entirely in your browser and never uploads its images.
Private files expire
References, generated outputs, reduced watermarked previews, and job records are private working files. Full-resolution output URLs are signed and appear only after server-verified payment. Workbench records and files expire after 30 days; the private storage bucket also has a 35-day lifecycle as a cleanup backstop. Save selected finals before expiry.
Privacy-conscious analytics
We use PostHog, a privacy-conscious analytics tool, to understand which pages help people and which do not — for example, how many visitors read the reference guide or open the planner. This is aggregate product analytics, used only to improve the site. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising trackers, and we do not build personal profiles for marketing.
- What we measure: page views and native funnel events such as workbench views, upload starts, preview readiness, checkout starts, and verified purchases.
- What the workbench stores: private references and scene files, job and pack state, bounded attribution fields, and an optional delivery email.
- Cookies: only what the analytics tool needs to count visits; no advertising cookies.
Payment and optional recovery email
Stripe receives card details; KeepThisCharacter does not store card numbers. Checkout metadata carries the job, pack, door, source page, and bounded attribution fields needed to verify and understand the purchase. You may optionally save an email address so [email protected] can send the private recovery link. Email is not required to download from an open verified workbench.
Contact
For privacy, deletion, or delivery questions, email [email protected]. Include the non-secret job or batch identifier from your workbench URL when useful, but never send payment credentials or private download signatures by email.
Questions, answered plainly
Do you store the images I use in the planner?
No. The planner runs entirely in your browser. Workbench uploads are different: the primary and optional second reference enter private storage for scene generation, while the third comparison slot stays local.
Do you use advertising trackers?
No. We use only privacy-conscious product analytics to see which pages are useful, in aggregate. There are no advertising cookies and no data selling.
How long can I recover a purchased pack?
For 30 days after fulfillment. Keep the batch URL or send it to yourself through the optional recovery-email form, and download selected finals before that date.
Start with a private preview
Use only approved references, keep the recovery URL private, and save selected finals before the 30-day expiry.
One free watermarked preview here — no signup. Choose a pack only after you inspect the scene.
